Nefertitina - Première reprise du fond

Objectif

J'ai aujourd'hui effectué la première reprise du fond.
Il s'agit de donner une température plus froide aux lumières extrêmes pour offrir un contraste aux ombres qui, elles seront chaudes.

Matériel

Un pinceau en petit-gris n°00
Des couleurs assez liquides faites à base de blanc, très légèrement réchauffé d'ocre doré de Vérone ou très légèrement refroidi d'hématite, ou très légèrement teinté de rouge de Venise.

Bilan

J'ai commencé par la partie inférieure du tableau, passant un blanc froid près du corps et progressivement réchauffé en s'en éloignant. La touche était verticale et très fine.
La partie supérieure, en contraste, a été effectuée très hardiment, très librement, débordant très souvent dans la chevelure même. Ainsi, en utilisant du "blanc", j'obtiens différents contrastes grâce au diverses températures et au diverses touches de pinceau.
L'ensemble sera repris ultérieurement en nuances, mais le fond est maintenant suffisamment élaboré pour pouvoir reprendre la chevelure au striper avec différentes couleurs, cette fois-ci.

English Résumé

The purpose of this session is to paint the background in its final tonal value. It was done with different kind of brush touches. Calm and vertical at the bottom right, they become free and full of energy on the top and the left of the painting. The white tempera was sometimes warmed up with a little amount of yellow ocher and sometimes cooled down with hematite (specially near the body).
I will be able now to go in painting the hair, with different colours this time.

Le nouveau chevalet

Afin de pouvoir travailler dans une position plus adaptée à mon état physique, j'ai conçu et réalisé (bricolé :o) ce chevalet pivotant sur 360° et inclinable de tous côtés jusqu'à environ 45°. Posé à bonne hauteur, il permet de travailler assis sans avoir à lever les bras. La position debout permet le recul que l'on a avec un chevalet de studio habituel.

The new easel

In order to work in a more suitable position according to my physical condition, I designed and built (tinkered :o) this easel. It is 360° rotatable and tiltable to all sides about 45°. Placed at the right height, I can work sitting without having to lift the arm. When I stand, I have a good vision down, as with a normal studio easel.
